Increase Website Traffic - 5 Ways to increase your website traffic
1. Get listed on the first page of all the major search engines.
Sound crazy, right, but it is doable. With a proper Search Engine Optimisation and Link Building campaign, you will be able be part of the top rankers on your web site's key phrases.
On average, depending on your web site's popularity, leads from Search Engines account for between 30% and 95% of website traffic. Obviously if you have an established brand like for example Facebook with over 200 million users (May 2009), search engines will have a minimum impact on your traffic. For everyone else, there are Search Engines to help.
If you want to be on the first page of Google please view our page: Guaranteed Search Engine Rankings.
It is very important to understand that Search Engine optimisation and link building is not going to give you a massive return within the first month. Search Engines are a bit slow in identifying these changes, but once they get going, there is no stopping.
2. Use Cost Per Click (CPC) Campaigns
The easiest and quickest way to attract more people to your website is by running a Cost Per Click Campaign. This will cost you a few dollars, however the amount of information you can get from this is priceless. You will be able to identify keywords that work. Make sure you use a traffic analysis product which will give you a clear indication of the number of goals you achieve. One of the goals might be a sale, or just a registration.
The information gathered from the CPC Campaign will give you a clear indication of which Keywords you should optimise for, and don't waist your time with "dead keywords"
3. Submit your site to directories.
Find a well establish and creditable directory site, and add your website to the directory. Don't pay for these submissions. They are not worth it, except you you can get a link from a page with a high page rank and low number of outbound links, which will result in better search engine rankings. That said, it is still important for you to get listing on directories with similar content. This will give the search engines an idea of what you are all about.
4. Send our Newsletters
Allow your users to register for your news letter. This is a great cheap way of getting your customers to come back to your website, especially if you have new content. Make sure you do not flood your users with too much information. Keep the newsletters short but interesting, and try to stay away from too many ads. Also make sure you give your subscribers the opportunity to unsubscribe. Else you might just end up as a black listed domain.
Remember, these subscribers are people already interested in your product or active in your environment. So give them information that is new and fresh, and they will come back.
5. Add and update content regularly
Make sure your customers have a reason why they want to come back to your website. Add new interesting content on the website. Make sure it is obvious what is new. You might want to add links from your home page to the new pages. You can even include the date at which the page was last updated.
